Ham Fist Directive

May 2017

Developed and performed for Red Eye Theater’s Works-In-Progress program in their New Works 4 Weeks festival.

Created by Eric Larson with performers Kenzi Allen, Jo Kellen, Lily Noonan, and Leif Hove. With contributions from Neva Dalager and Billy Mullaney.

Ham Fist Directive works towards a theatre where thought processes become dramaturgical and character judgments, distortion, and confusion move from being by-products to meaningful evidence about how we deal with each other. The piece highlights what is missed in the process of immediate recognition encouraged by conventional practices of watching theatre. How do we recognize recognition, and what do we do with it?
